UF Solace
Solace volunteers spend time with patients in the geriatric unit through arts and crafts, games, reading, or simply sharing precious time, offering meaningful connection through conversation, presence, and empathy. Spending time one-on-one with patients can make a tremendous difference in a patient's day, lifting spirits and improving emotional well-being. Solace is about more than just volunteering; it's about broadening perspectives and acknowledging that everyone has a meaningful story. Whether you're a student exploring healthcare or someone who simply wants to give back, your presence matters.

I absolutely love Solace. It was the best decision joining this club that I have made at UF. The members are incredibly kind, supportive, hard-working, and down to Earth people. Board members work extremely hard to provide fun and engaging socials and events, and you can truly see how much they care about the geriatric community. Volunteering is weekly for 3 hours at Shands. It's very personal as you have intimate conversations with patients and often make a huge impact on their hospital stay. I love Solace and I'm so happy to be a part of it. If you care about geriatric patients and looking for a fun club, definitely join Solace.
